IMAP Netherlands onboard two new colleagues to strengthen the team.

Since the beginning of this month Ian Bussey (left picture) has strengthened the partner group of IMAP Netherlands.
Ian specializes in the healthcare sector. Prior to joining, Ian was a partner at IMAP’s London based member firm Regent Assay. He has moved to the Netherlands following Brexit as he feels he can better serve international healthcare clients from the European Mainland. Ian has more than 20 years of professional M&A experience having previously worked in-house for NYSE-listed Medical Device business The Cooper Companies, where he was responsible for international corporate development and acquisitions. Ian was also a shareholder and director of UK tech firm Mistral Internet where he undertook 9 acquisitions in 3 years before selling the business to KCOM.
Recent healthcare deals include the sale of Infoflex to Civica, the sale of DTR Medical to Innovia Medical, the sale of National Slimming Clinics to Private Equity, the MBO of Bariatric Surgery business Weight to Go, the acquisition of Single Use Surgical by WH Eakin and the acquisitions of The Pipette Company and Research Instruments by Coopersurgical Inc. Ian was also part of the IMAP teams on the recent Covalon Acuaguard and Eurotec Convatec deals.
Ian has also been retained to provide strategic advisory services to a number of healthcare companies including WH Eakin, Timesco, Sifi, Rayner Medical, Paraytec, Lagad, Kirkstall and Stonechecker.
Ian is a lawyer by training having graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bjuris and LLB
Abel Spohr (right picture) started at IMAP Netherlands some weeks earlier as a consultant. Abel is a corporate finance specialist with a great deal of international experience. From 2018 to 2020 he worked at Grant Thornton in Australia where he was mainly involved in complex valuations of listed companies. Prior to that he worked as an M&A Consultant in the Netherlands where he advised SMEs on corporate finance issues such as M&A and valuations. Furthermore he gained M&A experience at M&A office Squarefield in Amsterdam.
Abel's M&A specialty lies in the field of complex financial analysis and valuations.
Abel studied International Business Administration and Finance & Investment at Erasmus University and is currently in the concluding phase of his study Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
